Types of Insulation

Depending on your project requirements, we offer sprayed acoustical insulation to provide sound dampening as well as thermal insulation. For other needs, we offer EIFS (Exterior Insulation and Finishing System), which provides cladding and insulation all at once.

In addition to sprayed acoustical insulation, we offer exterior cladding and fireproofing services to encompass all your exterior contracting needs with one team.

Commercial Acoustical Insulation FAQs

Sprayed acoustical insulation is a sound-absorbing material that is applied directly to surfaces like ceilings and walls. It’s designed to reduce echo and control noise levels in large or open spaces, while also offering some thermal insulation benefits.

This type of insulation is ideal for commercial, industrial, and institutional spaces such as gyms, auditoriums, manufacturing facilities, offices, and open-plan buildings. It’s especially effective in areas where hard surfaces would otherwise reflect sound and create unwanted noise buildup.

The insulation is mixed and sprayed onto properly prepared surfaces using specialized equipment. Once applied, it forms a seamless, continuous layer that conforms to the shape of the surface. This means it's a flexible solution for both flat and complex surfaces, plus areas that are hard to reach otherwise.

Sprayed acoustical insulation offers a variety of benefits: Sound Control: Reduces echo and reverberation, improving speech clarity and overall acoustics. Thermal Performance: Adds a layer of thermal resistance, enhancing energy efficiency. Design Flexibility: Available in a range of textures and colors to meet aesthetic goals. Seamless Coverage: Easily covers irregular surfaces, beams, and hard-to-reach areas. Cost Efficiency: Typically faster and more affordable to install than panel systems.

While primarily installed for acoustic control, sprayed insulation also adds thermal resistance to ceilings and walls, contributing to a building's overall energy performance.

The materials used for sprayed acoustical insulation are non-toxic when applied properly, fire-rated, and designed to last for years with minimal maintenance. Once cured, the surface is stable, durable, and resistant to cracking or flaking under normal conditions.

Many sprayed acoustical products contain recycled content and contribute to improved indoor environmental quality — two factors that can help earn LEED credits and support sustainable building goals.

Soundproofing is achieved with sprayed acoustical insulation by applying a dense, absorptive coating to surfaces like ceilings and walls. This layer helps trap airborne sound waves and reduces the amount of noise that passes through structural elements.

how its done

Our Process

Our commitment to quality and trust starts with our leaderships, and continues at every level of our organization.

Initial Consultation

We start every spray acoustical insulation project with an in-depth consultation to understand your project’s requirements. We’ll provide a rough estimate at this stage, before moving forward.

Detailed Budgeting

At this step, we’ll work together to create a thorough budget that includes specifications for acoustical insulation products if necessary. Whether we are bidding for a job or working directly with your general contractor, we’ll be sure the cost is clear and easy to understand. In addition, we can provide budgets for conceptual, design development, all the way through final construction documents.

We prioritize personalization and take a tailored approach to all of our services. For example, we can offer value engineering to help meet budgetary requirements or provide total quantities for each product based on your project scope.

Scheduling & Planning

Once we agree and sign, we’ll finalize our budgets and submittals and plan out our communication. Our project managers will be in direct contact with both the general contractor and the client throughout the installation of your acoustic insulation.

As needed, our preconstruction professionals are available to collaborate early in the design phase to ensure constructability, efficiency, and value.

After that, we’ll plan out our schedule, coordinate with other teams on site, and conduct pre-install conferences or pull planning sessions as needed to set up a path for work to be completed on time and within budget.

Construction

Our professional team combines a strict work ethic, uncompromising focus on safety, and meticulous attention to detail to ensure every project is completed correctly and efficiently. We guarantee a smooth process by arriving ready to work, proactively solving challenges, and maintaining clear communication from start to finish.
